2008-09 School of Promise Awardee (6th year in
a row!)
The State Superintendent's
Schools of Promise program recognizes elementary,
middle and high schools across Ohio that are
demonstrating high achievement for all groups
of students.
Congratulations to
Genoa's Students and Staff for being awarded
this honor
for the 5th year in a row! Genoa has been named
a School of Promise for the following school
years: 2003-04, 2004-05, 2005-06, 2006-07, 2007-08 & 2008-09.
Genoa Named a National Title
I Distinguished School
Genoa Elementary was named
a National Title I Distinguished School in
2006-2007. Genoa was selected as one of two
schools to represent Ohio and be honored at
the National Title I conference in California.
Once again, Genoa students and staff are demonstrating
outstanding achievement and becoming a model
of excellence both in the state and at the
national level. Kudos to all! |
The
United States Department of Education named Genoa
Elementary a 2005 No Child Left Behind Blue Ribbon
School!!! Genoa was 1 of 16 schools nominated
from the state of Ohio for this distinct honor.
Genoa has the distinction of being 1 of only
295 schools in the country to be named a 2005
Blue Ribbon School. Genoa was given special recognition
at an awards ceremony held in Washington DC. Congratulations
to the Genoa students and staff!
