Perry Local Schools is proud to announce the offering of an adult cosmetology program that will be offered September 1, 2008 through August 31, 2009. Classes will be conducted in the new cosmetology lab, located at 632 Genoa Ave SW, Monday - Friday 3:00pm - 8:30pm and two 8 hour Saturdays a month. Students will be required to participate in a 150 hour internship in addition to the current classes scheduled during the last 3 months of enrollment. This will be equal to 12.5 hours per week. Breaks in the program will include 1 week at Christmas and Easter and 2 days at Thanksgiving. The plan allows for 100 hours of absenteeism. The Perry Academy will operate under the same curriculum model used for the current Cosmetology program conducted for juniors and seniors at Perry High School. Members of this program will be afforded the opportunity to study in a new facility that has gained outstanding community support. Students will also benefit from the Pride, Excellence and Tradition that Perry Schools have become famous for over the last 50 years of graduating highly qualified students. Those who successfully complete the course requirements are guaranteed licensure eligibility. Tuition for this program is $7,500 but if preregistered before June 1st, a discounted rate of $7,000 will apply.
