On behalf of the Perry Local Schools, I’d like to welcome you to the 2009-2010 school year. With the summer months coming to a conclusion, we now focus our energies on the opportunities, challenges, and responsibilities we share in educating our students. Listening to the beating drums of our marching band, hearing the sound of football pads hitting one another, and seeing students in and around the schools also brings a sense of excitement as we approach the autumn months. It is with a great deal of gratitude that I begin my fifth year as superintendent of Perry Local Schools. The community of stakeholders in Perry Township all work to make our school system one of the finest in the state of Ohio. Our students continue to score high academically, experience success in post-graduation activities, and are involved in numerous school and community-related efforts. We have great teachers who work hard to ensure that effective teaching and learning takes place that ultimately prepares students for success after they graduate from Perry Local Schools.
As we begin the school year, we will continue to emphasize excellence in learning, by providing an array of opportunities for every student to realize his or her potential. We have a goal that Perry’s graduates will become successful, responsible citizens and lifelong learners. We will strive to live our district’s mission on a daily basis through our strategic plan, while operating in an efficient and fiscally responsible manner. Special thanks to our board members for their leadership, and thanks to our entire community in continually making Perry Local Schools an organization of excellence. Have a great year!
Sincerely,
John Richard
