Grades K - 2
Each week all classes have story time or a learning activity in the library.  Many times the stories are interactive which really get the kids involved!  We use these activities to reinforce the  ODE School Library Guidelines.

Kindergarten students may check out 1 book.  Learning how to care for their borrowed books and return them on time is a great start to using the library.

Grade 1 may check out two books maximum from the Easy or Easy Non-fiction section of the library.  Help them find a great safe place for their book at home and reinforce their responsibility to get their book to school on time.

Grade 2 checks out 2 Easy/Easy Non-fiction books. After Christmas break they begin checking out from the Non-fiction section of the library; 1Easy-1 Non-fiction.  Keep reinforcing student responsibility to keep books safe and return them on time!

CONTEST GRADES 1 & 2
This year in grades 1 and 2 we will be having a reading contest between the classes.  Look to sign your child's  "Pop Open A Good Book" sheet and help them popcorn to their class bucket.  For every 2 books read and stamped a child will get to fill out a popcorn with their name and add it to the class bucket.  KEEP BOOK LIST SHEET IN TAKE HOME FOLDER!!!  This is the only record of the books your child read.  There will be a prize for the top leader in each class and a popcorn party for the class that reads the most books!! Please look for the letter coming home for details on this contest!!

Caught being Kind :)

IF you are caught being extra kind or extra helpful to others you will receive a "Kingdom of Reading" dollar.  Put your name, grade, and teacher on the back and each month there will be a drawing for a special prize!
